Who we are
Way2Sec is a Telugu short-news app and website (way2sec.news). It shows short news summaries in Telugu, each with the name of the original source and a link to the full story.
What we collect
- No account, no sign-up. You do not need to give us your name, phone number or email to use the app.
- Your choices stay on your phone. The district and topics you pick, and the last news you loaded (so the app works offline), are saved only on your own device. We cannot see them.
- Notifications (if you allow them). If you turn on news alerts, our notification service (OneSignal) receives a random device ID so it can deliver alerts to your phone. You can turn alerts off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) may keep standard server logs such as IP address and browser type for security. We do not use them to identify you.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not show personalised ads.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, location or microphone.
Links to other websites
"Full story" links and the WhatsApp channel button open other websites and apps (news sites, WhatsApp). Their own privacy policies apply there.
News content
Summaries are written in our own words with help from AI and are checked against the original reports. The source is named on every card. If you find an error, please tell us and we will correct it.
Children
Way2Sec is a general news app and is not directed at children under 13.
